1,000,000 metre challenge
Saturday 10th October 2026
One day. Twelve hours. One huge community challenge.
On Saturday 10 October, we will be taking on a 12-hour ski, row and bike erg challenge to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice.
Each lane will have its own target of 1,000,000 metres, accumulated across one skiErg, one rower and one bike.
If a lane reaches 1,000,000 metres before the end of the event, we will not stop. We will keep the machines moving for the full 12 hours and see just how far we can go!
You can take part individually, with a partner or as a team of three. Whether you choose a 30-minute challenge or a three-hour challenge, every effort and every metre will count.
You do not need to be a BUILT member to take part. Everyone is welcome.

why
To raise money for Princess Alice Hospice.
Why we’re supporting Princess Alice Hospice
Princess Alice Hospice provides free palliative and end-of-life care to people across our local community, alongside vital support for their carers and families.
The Hospice has supported members of the BUILT community and their loved ones through incredibly difficult times, offering compassionate care, guidance and support when it has been needed most.
This cause is therefore very close to our hearts.
Through our 1,000,000 Metre Challenge, we would love to come together as a community to show our appreciation and help Princess Alice Hospice continue providing invaluable care and support to local people and their families.
How the challenge works
The event will run continuously for 12 hours, from 8:00am until 8:00pm.
Each lane will contain:
One SkiErg
One rower
One bike
The goal for each lane is to accumulate 1,000,000 metres across its three machines during the event.
All metres completed on the Ski, rower and bike within that lane will be added together to create the lane’s running total.
Each lane will have a minimum of three and a maximum of nine participants taking part at one time.
You can register:
Individually
As a pair
As a team of three
Depending on the duration and time slot selected, you will share your lane with other participants.
