Reflect on Progress
"Progress you don't reflect on regularly is progress your brain deletes." - Sharelle Grant
I came across this quote recently and it really hit home, because I see this so often with the BUILT members.
Reflection can feel a little uncomfortable. Sometimes it feels strange to give ourselves credit for the steps we've taken.
Instead, we often hold back any acknowledgement until we achieve the BIG THING.
But what about the smaller things?
Because if we're honest, those are the things that make the big things happen.
Did you show up when you didn't really feel like it?
Did you feel a little more confident?
Did a movement feel a little easier this week?
Did you show up for yourself?
Did you drink enough water?
Did you get enough sleep?
Did you practice a skill that moves you closer to your goal?
Did you eat enough?
Did you do what you could that day?
All of these things add up.
They deserve to be reflected on and acknowledged, because they are what make the bigger things possible.
Without reflection, those small wins pass us by, and it becomes easy to believe we're not making progress.
And that simply isn't true.
So here's a little reminder for this week: don't forget to reflect on the small things.
They matter more than you think.
