My Parents Lift Weights Too
Both my parents are in their 70s.
They strength train just 1-2 times a week, sometimes at the gym, sometimes at home, for 20 to 45 minutes.
Their training isn't complicated. It's simple. It's consistent. It's repeatable. And it doesn't take hours.
But the impact?
It's huge.
It's in their health.
Their energy.
Their confidence.
Their independence.
I watch them walk the dog twice a day.
Work in the garden.
Build a porch.
Lift, carry, sit, stand, kneel down, and get back up.
To witness both my parents doing the things they love, and living life on their terms, is something I'll never take for granted.
This is the power of strength training.
Not for performance.
Not for aesthetics.
But for life.
It's never too late to start.
